Peak District features in House of the Dragon finale - will the stars return to film series two?

Eagle-eyed House of the Dragon fans have spotted a Peak District beauty spot in the final episode.

Marnie Collins commented: “This location looks familiar!” when she posted an image from the successor to blockbuster fantasy series Game of Thrones on the Derbyshire and Peak District Walks page on Facebook.

James Gowers commented that he was in Castleton when filming for House of the Dragon, starring Matt Smith and Paddy Considine, took place last year. James posted: “Watching some of the crew’s lorries trying to navigate the roads was interesting to say the least.”

Paul Mitchell pinpointed the image as Cave Dale and said he was there when filming took place.

With the Peak District landscape providing such a stunning backdrop, the big question is will House of the Dragon stars be returning to the area to film series two next summer?

The Derbyshire Times put the query to HBO, makers of House of the Dragon. Megan MacLeod, vice-president, international programming publicity at HBO said: “Afraid we’re not in a position to confirm any production details for House of the Dragon S2 at this time.”
