A casualty was treated for smoke inhalation after a tumble dryer caught alight.

Firefighters from Ripley and Alfreton attended the incident in Warmwells Lane, Ripley, on Friday at 10.41pm.

They used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to tackle the blaze, which was out by 11pm.

The male casualty was treated by an ambulance crew and the firefighters left shortly before midnight.
