Two arrested after armed robbery in Alfreton

Police have arrested two men under suspicion of robbery after a raid at an Alfreton bookmakers.

The raid happened at Ladbrokes, on Nottingham Road, Alfreton, about 5.20pm, on Sunday, February 9.

Derbyshire Constabulary said police responded to a report that two men armed with a knife had entered the bookmakers and threatened staff and customers before taking some cash from a till.

Police confirmed a 30-year-old man, from Langley Mill, and a 35-year-old man have been arrested and investigations are continuing.

Witnesses are urged to call Derbyshire Constabulary on 101.
